ZNU and InCharge: sustainability in the focus of advisory and supervisory boards

Symbolic image for cooperation in the area of sustainability.

Founded by Sandra von Felbert and Norbert Richter almost 20 years ago, InCharge has a deep understanding of the specific challenges in the FMCG markets, i.e. the markets for fast-moving consumer goods such as food, household goods and personal care products, for manufacturers and retailers as well as for national and international companies. "Sustainability is increasingly becoming a core topic in discussions with associates, management and supervisory bodies," say Norbert Richter and Partner Manfred Wulf from InCharge. "With the ZNU, we have a strong partner that combines scientific expertise with practical solutions and will thus contribute to anchoring competences in management right up to the top of companies."

Dr Axel Kölle and Dr Christian Geßner, heads of the ZNU, see the cooperation as an opportunity to make academically sound approaches accessible to a broader target group: "InCharge's excellent network expands our opportunities and puts sustainability on the agenda of decision-makers."

Sustainability as a management issue

From 2025, the ZNU will be offering further training specifically for advisory and supervisory boards. The seminars impart the knowledge needed to assess sustainability from a regulatory and strategic perspective. Topics such as innovation strategies and the assessment of regulatory requirements will take centre stage. The first seminars with a university certificate will take place in June and November 2025 and will be supplemented by experts from the fields of law, auditing and banking. What qualifies the ZNU for this are its intensive research, its many years of training expertise and its focus on sustainable corporate management.

Dr Axel Kölle emphasises: "Sustainability is not just a regulatory must, but a strategic necessity. With our training courses and the ZNU Standard for Sustainable Management, we want to support companies in remaining competitive in the long term."

A tried and tested tool: the ZNU Standard for Sustainable Management

The ZNU Standard is a certifiable sustainability standard that supports companies in developing and implementing their strategies. Over 130 companies have been using it since 2012, including Ritter Sport and the Bitburger Brewery Group. Certifications by independent bodies such as TÜV and DEKRA create trust. The standard is characterised by its holistic approach.
