StudierendenGesellschaft: Financing education in a socially responsible way
What is the Income Share Agreement (ISA)?
Witten/Herdecke University's Income Share Agreement (ISA) is a social financing model that is orientated towards students' individual financial means. It offers each person the mode of payment that suits them best - from direct payment to income-related repayment after graduation.
The 3 modes of payment at a glance
Income-related repayment after graduation
study now, pay later
You pay nothing during your studies. Only when you earn money later will you pay tuition fees depending on the amount of your income.
- Amount of tuition fees: Depends on your future income
If you earn little, you pay little (or nothing) back; if you earn more, you pay more back.
Tuition fees vary depending on the course and degree programme. You can find out what percentage of your salary you would later pay under tuition fees. - Lower limit: In the calendar years in which your earnings are below the contractually stipulated relevant annual income, you pay nothing back.
- Upper limit: A fixed upper limit caps your repayments.
- Payment period: 10 contribution years; monthly payment
- Switch: If you initially opt for this option, you can switch to option 2 or 3 during the first half of your studies.
Fixed direct payment
Fixed monthly payments during your studies
Would you like to pay your tuition fees monthly during your studies? No problem! At the end of the standard period of study, all tuition fees are paid and you no longer have to pay anything.
- Amount of tuition fees:The tuition fees for the fixed direct payment vary depending on the degree programme. You can find all prices under tuition fees.
- Switching: If you choose this option at the beginning of your degree programme, you can switch to mode of payment 1 or 3 at any time during your studies.
Half late payment and half direct payment
Figures according to the "50/50" principle
This variant combines the income-related repayment after graduation with the fixed direct payment during your studies.
Amount of tuition fees:
- 50% tuition fees Later payment: depends on your future income. If you earn less, you pay back little (or nothing); if you earn more, you pay back more.
- 50% tuition fees direct payment: varies depending on the course of study and degree programme.
Under tuition fees you can find out how much you would have to pay back pro rata from your salary (late payment) and how high the tuition fees are for direct payment.
Payment period:
- 10 years; monthly
Change:
- If you decide in favour of this option at the beginning of your studies, you can switch to option 2 during the first half of your studies. You can always switch to option 1.
