How does the company scholarship work?
Step 1: Application for a study place
You are applying to UW/H for a Bachelor's degree programme at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society.
Step 2: Application for a company scholarship
You will receive an invitation to admission interviews. At the same time, you submit your application for a company scholarship from a specific company to the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society. These companies currently offer a company scholarship.
Step 3: Confirmation of study place
Congratulations: You have been accepted onto a degree programme.
Step 4: Forwarding to the companies
The Faculty of Management Economics and Society will forward your application for a company scholarship to the selected company.
Step 5: Selection of candidates
The company selects suitable applicants from among the candidates and invites you to an interview.
Step 6: Funding agreement
If you reach a mutual agreement, the company and you will conclude a separate sponsorship agreement. The company agrees to pay the tuition fees for your degree programme in full. In return, you will work for the company alongside your studies, for example as a working student, write your thesis at the company or start your career at the company as a suitable employee after completing your studies. These arrangements will be agreed individually between you and the sponsoring company.
Preliminary consideration: Is the company scholarship right for me?
Before you apply for a company scholarship, please think carefully about whether the company is of interest to you and your future career and whether you can imagine taking advantage of its offers. If so, the company scholarship is an ideal opportunity for you to make your first contacts in the business world and gain valuable experience in the world of work.

Frequently asked questions about the company scholarship
Am I obliged to work for the company that sponsored me after I finish my studies?
Whether the company wants you to continue working for them for some time after the end of your studies as a suitable employee, or whether it is much more exciting for the company that you work there as a working student alongside your studies and write your thesis for the company, is regulated by the individual support agreement that you conclude with the company. Every company has different requirements.
With the sponsorship agreement, you enter into a binding contract. If you do not fulfil the contract, you may have to refund the tuition fees that the company has paid for you (but only up to the amount of the payments made).
What happens to the funding if I drop-out or change my degree programme?
If you drop out of your studies at UW/H completely, the company sponsorship automatically expires. Tuition fees already paid to the UW/H will not be refunded. Whether you are obliged to repay the tuition fees paid by the company in full or in part will be regulated individually in the funding agreement you enter into with the company.
If you change to another degree programme within the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society, the company and you will check whether the new degree programme is also compatible with your funding agreement. If this is the case, the funding will continue. If the new degree programme does not match the funding agreement, the funding will be discontinued (as in the case of a drop-out). However, we will then give you the opportunity to switch to the ReverseGeneration Contract (ISA) so that you can complete your studies at UW/H. In any case, you should inform the company in good time if you plan to change your degree programme.
Am I entitled to a grant?
Applicants have no legal entitlement to funding.
I am already a student in my 2nd or 3rd semester. Can I still apply for funding?
The company scholarship is primarily aimed at freshers. If you are already a student on a Bachelor's degree programme at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Society and are interested in a company scholarship, please contact us. We will then examine the possibilities together.
What do I do if the sponsoring company and I "just don't fit"?
Of course, there is always a risk that over time it will become apparent that the collaboration between the sponsoring company and you is not working. Our tip: Don't throw in the towel straight away. Sometimes a clarifying conversation or a change of perspective can help to find a good solution after all.
However, if it really doesn't work out, you can both terminate the sponsorship in this case. You will be given the opportunity to switch to the Income Share Agreement (ISA) at the UW/H in order to complete your studies at the UW/H.
Whether you may be obliged to repay the tuition fees paid by the company on a pro rata basis or in full to the company is regulated individually in the funding agreement that you enter into with the company. Tuition fees already paid to the UW/H will not be refunded.
