The Professional Campus at Witten/Herdecke University is the place to learn for anyone who already has responsibility in their job and wants to shape the future.
It offers continuing education programmes for professionals, especially managers, that impart future-oriented, academically sound and practical knowledge. The Professional Campus offers educational spaces for experimentation and reflection, for exciting changes of perspective and creative thought processes as well as successful communication and co-operation. It combines the latest research and entrepreneurial practice and brings innovative new thinkers together with experienced practitioners.
The continuing education programme of the UW/H Professional Campus includes part-time degree programmes, courses and conferences in the fields of business, family entrepreneurship, medicine and dentistry.

Thinking health in context
If you want to keep yourself, other people, society and not least our planet healthy, you need to be able to rethink and understand the interrelationships of a forward-looking health care system. After all, hardly anything else is as complex, interconnected and sensitive as the physical, mental and social systems, structures and processes that need to work well together in order for us to stay healthy. This applies to medical care and support, but also to everyday life, appointments, nutrition, mental balance, an age-appropriate lifestyle, prevention, rehabilitation and care.
At the Professional Campus, we focus on all aspects that are important in their entirety for maintaining health. It is not just about the individual person, but also about the interplay of behavioural patterns, lifestyles, habits, social ties, working environments and the influence of different environments from a holistic perspective. In this area, we work particularly closely with the Faculty of Health at Witten/Herdecke University, which is the only institution in Germany to combine the disciplines of human medicine, dentistry, nursing science and psychology under one roof.
The continuing education programmes offered by the Professional Campus in the field of health are aimed at people who want to better understand the interrelationships in medicine and the health care system as well as learn about current research and innovative methods.

Those who want to lead organisations into the future must take on more responsibility than ever before - not just for growth and development, but for more meaning, more well-being and more opportunities for people, society and nature to develop. This requires managers and employees who understand how to make companies and the world fit for the future and who want to help shape organisations and society.

The Professional Campus training programmes in the area of family businesses are aimed at current and future associates, aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals who want to expand their skills and meet the challenges professionally. With our programmes, which have been successful for 10 years, we support you in future-proofing your company.
Family businesses are a central part of the economy and face unique challenges. One of the central tasks is to successfully prepare current and future associates for their roles. In addition to imparting business management knowledge, it is important to understand the specific dynamics of family businesses and business families. The family members not only have to make far-reaching decisions together, but also identify with the company in the long term. At the same time, individual needs must be taken into account.
In order to master these challenges, we offer customised courses for family businesses at the Professional Campus. In this area, we work closely with the Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) at Witten/Herdecke University, the law firm Hennerkes, Kirchdörfer and Lorz and the consultancy firm SMP - Struktur Management Partner. These co-operations enable practical training courses that are specifically tailored to the current requirements of associates.

Anyone who wants to develop and install sustainable organisations and processes must be able to think differently and recognise larger contexts than we have learned and perceived in recent decades. In order to build sustainable structures in our organisations, economic processes, cities, regions, societies and markets, we need people who understand what changes and thought patterns are needed for a sustainable future and how to take society with us on this journey. We need to bring together social, ecological and economic dimensions and develop new entrepreneurial ideas and business models that ensure a more sustainable future.
At the Professional Campus, we offer the necessary knowledge and dialogue with experts from the relevant disciplines. We convey a diversity of perspectives, transdisciplinary thinking and cross-border discourse in order to find new solutions to social challenges. Our educational programmes are dedicated to building sustainable organisations with the aim of making products, processes and systems sustainable, where the long-term risks and consequences can be assessed and accounted for.
In cooperation with the Centre for Sustainable Leadership (ZNU), Witten/Herdecke University offers the Sustainability Manager course. This programme can also be completed as part of the Witten MBA.
