Here we grow! More than 830 employees bring our claim to life and work together to ensure that everyone at UW/H can grow - in knowledge, personality and skills, in their studies and in their job. Various service facilities for students as well as contact points for the press, sustainability, diversity and other topics provide the necessary support.
Governing Bodies and administrative bodies
As a university in private ownership, the UW/H is both a university in the academic sense and a non-profit limited company. In order to fulfil its diverse public welfare-oriented and higher education policy tasks in the best possible way, it needs strong management and future-oriented administrative bodies.
Our faculties
The two Faculties of Health and Business and Society are equally committed to innovation, practical relevance, equal opportunities and the promotion of young talent. In our degree programmes, we encourage students to think "out-of-the-box" so that they can become problem solvers and shapers of the future. In doing so, we attach great importance to networking different disciplines and changing perspectives.
WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale
The WittenLab. Zukunftslabor Studium fundamentale is the centrepiece of the UW/H and of central importance for thinking outside the box. It is the cornerstone of our teaching and promotes the individual personal development of our students by providing the necessary space for reflection and creativity.
Research and teaching beyond the campus
Our outpatient clinics
The Faculty of Health operates three outpatient services in the immediate vicinity of the campus: The Primary Care Clinic for Integrative Health Care and Naturopathy, the Centre for Mental Health and Psychotherapy (ZPP) and the Witten University Dental Clinic. Here we demonstrate our specialist expertise and treat patients in the fields of general practice, dentistry and psychotherapy.
Our institutes and centres
With our associated independent institutes and centres as well as chairs and professorships at clinics throughout NRW, we pursue practice-oriented and networked research and teaching. This enables us to provide new impetus in the fields of medicine, business and society and to bring together scientists from different disciplines.
