What formative experiences do medical students have during their professional personal development?
Project overview
Alongside the acquisition of medical skills, professional personal development is an important part of medical training. In order to implement suitable curricular support programmes, it is necessary to understand how medical students view this aspect of their training. In guided interviews, we asked 16 medical students in the practical year of a standard and a model study programme how they experience their professional personality development and which factors they perceive as formative, inhibiting or promoting. The interviews were analysed on the basis of grounded theory.
