[tra:ce] Colloquium “Profit - Purpose? Dealing with perceived conflicts of objectives in the field of sustainability”

Symbolic image of sustainability

A core challenge of sustainable business models is that they must not only achieve economic goals, but also take ecological and social aspects into account.
While this is recognized as a common challenge in practice and research, there is still a struggle to find suitable, innovative solutions. How can these tensions be overcome?

The [tra:ce] colloquium with Prof. Dr. Nadine Pratt, Professor of General Business Administration - in particular International Management and Sustainability, will address precisely this question. The presentation will introduce the paradox management approach, which helps to deal with (perceived) paradoxical conflicts of objectives in the area of sustainability. These include, for example, the tension between full circularity and speed to market or collaboration and competition.

Based on a research project with the start-up accelerator Circular Valley, conflicting goals are presented as paradoxical areas of tension that can occur in circular economy business models. In addition, the speaker will discuss navigation strategies to counter these contradictions and drive sustainable transformation in companies.

Participation is free of charge.
