The paradox of management controls in new forms of organising

Project overview

As digitalisation progresses, new forms of organisation are emerging, such as network organisations, which are completely different from previous companies. It is therefore reasonable to assume that controlling in these companies is also structured differently. Chair Professor Dr Erik Strauß and Professor Reinald Minnaar (Nyenrode Business School) are working on precisely this topic. In a joint research project, they are investigating how exactly controlling and corporate management are structured in a company that is organised holocratically, i.e. in which management responsibility does not lie with individuals, but in which all employees are integrated into the decision-making process.
