The paperless practice

Digitalisation in outpatient care is not least due to the mandatory use of the telematics infrastructure (digital network for communication between different players in the health care system). Video consultations and teleconsultations (digital professional consultations between doctors to discuss findings, make diagnoses and plan therapies) offer opportunities. However, added value only results if the practice's processes allow for digitalisation. The Westphalia-Lippe Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Chair of Health Informatics at UW/H are working together with healthcare stakeholders on blueprints for a paperless practice.
