The Fundamentals of Care Framework (FOC)

Transfer and clarification of relevance for the care of older people in Germany

Project overview

Caring is a complex, relationship- and person-centred, professional and social task. The Fundamentals of Care Framework was developed as a multidimensional construct by the international group of researchers led by Alison Kitson (Flinders University, South Australia) and has now been translated into several languages. In this project, the framework is to be translated into German and its relevance and usability for use in the care of older people in Germany is to be determined. In a first step, the framework was systematically translated and culturally adapted. In a further step, the current state of research on care principles for older people in Germany will be outlined for the first time in a mapping review.
