Social Entrepreneurship and Social Finance Research Group
Project overview
Tackling social problems in an entrepreneurial way and making a contribution to shaping the future - this and nothing less is what social entrepreneurs want to achieve with their initiatives for health, education, environmental protection, inclusion, integration and development. In doing so, they develop social entrepreneurial business models, often utilise new forms of financing and focus on measurable impact orientation. This also makes social entrepreneurs pioneers of broader social developments.
The research group "Social Entrepreneurship and Social Finance - Impact-oriented Models for Social Innovation" focussed on three major topics: Financing structures of social enterprises, mechanisms of the social capital market (impact investing) and social entrepreneurial impact logics in selected sectors (especially in the health sector).
The establishment of the research group is intended to pool expertise and strengths at the university and make them visible. In addition to research and publication of the results, courses will continue to be offered and term papers and theses supervised.
