Perception of resources in the course of psychotherapy

Project overview

Several studies have shown that patients' self-perceived strengths at baseline were associated with the therapeutic relationship and short-term and long-term therapy outcomes, even when controlling for problems and demographic variables (Probst et al., 2022; Schürmann-Vengels et al., 2022, Schürmann-Vengels et al., 2023). These predictive analyses suggest that treatment processes may differ for patients according to the extent to which they perceive resources. In this project, we want to investigate the development of resource perception in the course of therapy. In addition, we use latent panel data analyses to longitudinally link other processes in therapy (e.g. symptom development or alliance building) to resource perception.
