Physician Assistants meet general practice
Project overview
The PAAM project is trialling the use of physician assistants - PAs for short - in GP practices. The project is evaluating the extent to which trained PAs can take on medical tasks in GP practices and thus compensate for some of the shortages in GP care.

- Responsible: Institute of General Practice and Primary Care (iamag)
- Project partners: In addition to the institutes for general practice in Bochum, Düsseldorf and Witten, other partners include the German Association of Physician Assistants, BARMER and the AOK Bundesverband GbR, the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Westfalen-Lippe and the Institut für ärztliche Qualität in Schleswig-Holstein gGmbH.
