Multidimensional connectedness

Project overview

The feeling of connectedness is an essential need for every human being and central to our well-being. Different dimensions of connectedness, such as self-connectedness, social connectedness or connectedness to nature, represent a health resource.

Without a multidimensional sense of connectedness, people feel lonely or do not recognise any meaning in their existence. The consequences of these phenomena are mental and somatic illnesses; for example, a recent Harvard study indicates that connectedness/connectedness can have an impact on longevity.

We therefore believe that promoting connectedness in a holistic approach is not only central to improving health and quality of life, but also to increasing the capacity for democracy and promoting an appreciative world.

One goal of the IGVF is to create a potential impact that includes and promotes the various dimensions of connectedness. This is to be achieved through the creation of a network, scientific research and support, social innovation and practice transfer.
