KULTURZEIT: Memory and Empowerment - Experiences from the Oral History Project Bochum

Two folded hands lie on a lap.

Who writes the stories of migration in a city? How are these stories remembered? Who tells them? Whose voices should be heard? How are the traces of these memories preserved? How did people who came to Bochum decades ago experience the city back then and what moves them today? These are some of the questions that more than 40 interviewees were asked in the project "Bochum - City of Many | Senior Citizens Talk about Immigration (IFAK e. V.)".

Patrick Ritter and Alexis Rodríguez Suárez will trace the development process of the project and talk about some experiences, ethical considerations and the methodological approaches. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
