Guest lecture by Johannes Nolting

On 19 November 2024, we welcomed Johannes Nolting - Partner Marketing Lead DACH at Google with a focus on Google Cloud - back to Witten/Herdecke University. He completed his bachelor's degree in economics here 12 years ago. After further stations, including a marketing degree in Stockholm and an MBA in Shanghai, he started his career directly at Google, where he is now Partner Marketing Lead DACH at Google with a focus on Google Cloud.

In his presentation, Johannes took us into the world of marketing at Google and Google Cloud, described the challenges and opportunities of B2B partner marketing and gave exciting insights into the influence of artificial intelligence on marketing. Particularly exciting: the transformation of Google through Google Gemini, which could revolutionise the way we search for information in the future. He also gave us a vivid insight into the "10x thinking" principle that drives Google to create radical innovations.

Another highlight of his lecture was the topic of Google Cloud: Johannes emphasised that, unlike other providers, Google not only offers cloud infrastructure, but also promotes collaboration and data availability with an open platform. Google Cloud relies on the highest security standards and also brings valuable B2C experience to the B2B world, such as AI-supported visual inspections.

In the last part, Johannes spoke about the importance and marketing of AI and emphasised that AI is a "today thing" that we all have to deal with today.

Thank you, Johannes, for the inspiring insights and the valuable impulses you gave our students at Witten/Herdecke University!
