Projects and studies
Overview
- The filling of root canals, which is usually performed with one or more resin-containing posts and a cement, can lead to overfilling at the root apex or in a lateral canal. In a study, we are investigating the extent to which the overfilled materials of two sealers (AHplus Detrey, Constance, bioceramic sealer, VDW, Munich) ("sealer puff") are subsequently resorbed.
- The removal of broken root canal instruments from the root canal system is always a challenge. The aim of this study project is to find out whether removal using ultrasound is more favourable than removal using a loop system (Endo-Cowboy, Koerer, Neuss).
- During root canal filling, the canals must be widened and conicalised. Nowadays, this is usually done with rotary instruments. The project investigates whether there is a difference in the success rate of root canal treatments with two different mechanical rotary instrument systems.
