Diversity-sensitive care for patients with endometriosis (DivEndo)

Participatory development and evaluation of a digital service for patients and practitioners to improve diagnosis and optimise doctor-patient communication

Project overview

Endometriosis is one of the most common chronic diseases in women of reproductive age and often remains unrecognised despite its widespread prevalence. The disease is not only associated with physical pain, but also with considerable psychosocial stress. Many sufferers experience stigmatisation and discrimination in the healthcare system, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and inadequate care. In addition, there are challenges in everyday life, which are exacerbated by a lack of social acceptance and understanding. The considerable emotional and social burdens associated with endometriosis underline the need for better patient-centred care.

In the DivEndo project, a proposal for a research project is being drawn up in a participatory manner with various stakeholders to investigate how care for affected patients could change in order to ensure better prevention, treatment and care.
