Chair of Health Care Research
Research
Germany's population is characterised by diversity, e.g. with regard to factors such as gender, age, socio-economic status, disability or migration background. These characteristics go hand in hand with different expectations of healthcare. If these expectations are not taken into account, this can lead to barriers and dissatisfaction in care and have a negative impact on the accessibility and quality of care.
The Chair of Health Care Research is dedicated to this field of research by using mixed-method approaches to investigate how population groups differ in terms of their health, utilisation of health services and health outcomes. On the other hand, measures are being developed to support healthcare organisations and providers in various healthcare sectors in the implementation of diversity-sensitive care.
