Friedrich Edelhäuser is a neurologist and head of the Department of Early Rehabilitation at Herdecke Community Hospital. Together with colleagues, he has been setting up the Integrated Accompanying Studies in Anthroposophic Medicine at the University of Witten/Herdecke since 2004. The aim is to explore and try out what anthroposophic medicine can contribute to the further development of medicine and medical training in the sense of a humanistic deepening. He holds the professorship for education and training in anthroposophic medicine. His scientific focus is on the connection between perception and movement, introspection research in the sense of a differentiation of the first-person perspective, modern activity- and team-based teaching didactics, team-building, training and further education issues in medicine and, together with Prof. Dirk Cysarz, issues relating to rhythms in the human organism, including heart rate variability.
