1st International Conference on the Science of Mind-Body Medicine
Conference participants will dive into molecular mechanisms, neurobiological connections, psychosocial aspects and integrative approaches to comprehensive healthcare with international experts from various fields.
The conference theme revolves around the interdisciplinary nature of mind-body medicine (MBM) and focuses on the processes that are important for a healthy life and longevity. Participants will have the opportunity to explore various facets of this topic, including:
- Molecular mechanisms underlying mind-body interactions
- Neurobiological correlates of mindfulness and well-being
- Psychoneuroimmunology and its impact on health
- Integrative approaches to mental health and physical well-being
- Mind-body medicine interventions for the treatment of chronic diseases
- Yoga, meditation and other contemplative practices for health promotion
- Interface between MBM and artificial intelligence
Pre-conference workshops (4 November 2024):
- Grantsmanship - How to apply for international research grants (e.g. NIH) with George B. Stefano, Ph.D.
- Patent application - How to apply for patents in Mind-Body Medicine with J. Patrick Finn III, Ph.D.
Keynote Speakers:
- Sara W. Lazar, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Investigator in Psychiatry at the Mass General Research Institute: "Pain and fear conditioning"
- George B. Stefano, Ph.D., MBMRC-Co-Chair, Department of Psychiatry, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic and Distinguished Prof. Emeritus at State University of New York: "Mitochrondrial globalisation of health"
About the hosts:
The international Mind-Body Medicine Research Council (MBMRC) was founded in 2022 by George Stefano, Tobias Esch and Maren M. Michaelsen and consists of excellent scientists who each bring unique expertise to the study of MBM. Publications from the MBMRC are regularly featured in THE MIND Bulletin on Mind-Body Medicine Research.
The conference provides a unique platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange between experts from different disciplines. Participants will engage in stimulating discussions, share insights and build networks to shape the future of MBM research and practice.
Call for papers:
